Mike Denver
Born in Portumna, County Galway, Michael Fallon adopted the stage name Mike Denver and situates himself in the Irish country tradition, at the crossroads of American country, popular song and traditional dance/ball repertoire. Active onstage since his teens, Mike Denver launched his recording career with Wings to Fly in 2003 and went on to release several albums over the years, including Love to Live (2006), Messenger Boy (2007), The Galway Boy (2009), Tradition (2010), Cut Loose (2016), Workin’ Man (2019) and The Travelin’ Soldier Album (2024). His career has been built primarily on the Irish country circuit, in a format designed for concerts and dancing, featuring direct vocals, accessible arrangements and a strong grounding in both covers and original compositions suited to the style. In 2008 Mike Denver recorded The Real Deal with George Jones, a collaboration that places his work within the lineage of classic country. He has also issued several live recordings and compilations that document the centrality of live performance to his activity.
