Oscar Mulero

Active on the Spanish techno scene since the early 1990s, Oscar Mulero has developed his career between DJing and production from Madrid, where he grew up to the rhythm of clubs and emerging raves. Initially associated with the club The Omen, an important hub of Madrid’s electronic culture, Mulero soon expanded his activity internationally, appearing on stages of European clubs dedicated to the more radical edges of electronic music as well as at numerous festivals. His work focuses on dark, linear techno marked by industrial textures, repetitive motifs and a hypnotic approach to rhythm, which he deploys both in dancefloor-oriented formats and in more introspective projects bordering on ambient. Alongside his sets, Oscar Mulero founded the label Warm Up Recordings and later the PoleGroup collective and label, which have helped shape a portion of Spain’s techno output. His discography includes several studio albums, among them “Grey Fades to Green” (2011), “Black Propaganda” (2012) and “Muscle and Mind” (2015), as well as a dense catalogue of maxis and remixes released on various European labels, reflecting the different facets of Mulero’s aesthetic.
