Ricardo Garduno

Active on the Mexican techno scene since the early 2000s, Ricardo Garduno has established himself as a producer and DJ with a sound focused on dark, linear and percussive techno—often hypnotic—that swings between industrial tension and more cerebral grooves. Based in Mexico City, he founded the label Illegal Alien Records, through which he issues his own maxi singles and remixes while supporting a generation of international producers oriented toward a demanding club aesthetic. Garduno’s releases favor long-form structures, meticulous work on textures and low frequencies, and minimal variations that rely on repetition and rhythmic density rather than melody. On stage he performs in Mexican clubs as well as at parties and festivals across Europe and Latin America, tailoring his sets to contexts ranging from direct, dancefloor-oriented techno to more experimental segments. The Illegal Alien Records project also fosters collaborations, remix exchanges and compilations, consolidating Ricardo Garduno’s place within a transnational techno network while remaining rooted in the Mexican electronic ecosystem.
