Panzerfaust
Formed in Mississauga, Ontario, in 2005, Panzerfaust evolves in a dark, martial black metal, fed by an abrasive aesthetic, shifting tempos and a focus on atmosphere as much as on frontal impact. The Canadian band first became known with The Winds Will Lead Us… in 2006 and The Dark Age of Militant Paganism in 2008, before broadening its approach with the EPs Bythos - Proarkhe in 2010 and Ephphatha in 2011, where the philosophical and metaphysical dimension of its lyrics takes more space. Panzerfaust subsequently tours on the North American scene alongside bands such as Watain, Marduk, Einherjer or Abigail Williams, in a circuit tied to black metal and extreme music. In 2013, Jehovah-Jireh: The Divine Anti-Logos marks a new stage, with denser writing and production by Devo Andersson of Marduk. After the EP The Lucifer Principle in 2016, Panzerfaust develops a four-part cycle published between 2019 and 2024, The Suns of Perdition, consisting of Chapter I: War, Horrid War, Chapter II: Render Unto Eden, Chapter III: The Astral Drain and Chapter IV: To Shadow Zion. Around Goliath on vocals and Kaizer on guitar, Panzerfaust maintains a line where stark violence, liturgical darkness and long-form narrative construction intersect.
