Napalm Death

Napalm Death, formed in 1981 in Birmingham, is one of the most influential bands in extreme metal history and a founder of grindcore, known for an ultra-fast, chaotic and abrasive sound. Their first album Scum (1987), which includes the track 'You Suffer' — 1.3 seconds of pure rage — entered the Guinness World Records as the shortest recorded song ever. Landmark albums that followed include From Enslavement to Obliteration (1988), Harmony Corruption (1990), Utopia Banished (1992), Fear, Emptiness, Despair (1994), as well as Apex Predator Easy Meat (2015), Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism (2020) and Resentment Is Always Seismic (2022). Fronted since 1989 by Barney Greenway, Napalm Death combines political commitment, social critique and sonic brutality, blending grindcore, death metal and hardcore punk. Legendary on stage, they embody unfiltered intensity, visceral urgency and a lasting influence on generations of extreme musicians.
