Info
Napalm Death will play on 6 December 2026 at TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. The quartet from Birmingham has been regarded since 1981 as the founder of grindcore: ultra-short songs, lightning-fast assaults and abrasive riffs. Breakthrough album Scum (1987) set the tone, with “You Suffer” as the infamous 1.3-second pure fury. Milestones followed, such as From Enslavement to Obliteration, Harmony Corruption and Utopia Banished, up to more recent work like Apex Predator – Easy Meat, Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism and Resentment Is Always Seismic. With frontman Mark “Barney” Greenway at the helm since 1989, the band effortlessly shifts between grindcore, death metal and hardcore punk, with lyrics that address social and political themes without beating around the bush. Live it’s all about intensity and timing: cutting blastbeats, dissonant guitar layers and sudden tempo changes, alternated with heavy, lumbering grooves. Expect a set that brings together decades of material, from early classics to newer tracks, played with the dry directness Napalm Death is known for. On 6 December in Utrecht—no frills, straight to the point.
