Miossec

Miossec is a singer-songwriter from Brest, a distinctive figure in French chanson since the 1990s. First revealed by his debut album Boire in 1995, he immediately established a raw, lucid and disenchanted writing style, with words that cut like the guitars. His gravelly voice and stripped-down approach make him one of the pioneers of a modern realistic chanson, halfway between rock and poetry. Across albums such as Baiser, A prendre, Brûle, Finistériens and Les rescapés, Miossec has continually explored human torments—love, loneliness and the everyday disillusions—with unvarnished sincerity.
