Les Ramoneurs De Menhirs

Born at the crossroads of Parisian alternative punk and Breton fest-noz music, Les Ramoneurs de Menhirs have been developing since the mid-2000s a sound that blends distorted guitars, biniou, bombarde and traditional singing. Formed around guitarist Loran, formerly of Bérurier Noir, the band draws on singers and traditional players from the Breton scene to root its compositions in the region’s dances and folk melodies. Combining punk rock, Celtic music and dance-hall energy, Les Ramoneurs de Menhirs sing mainly in Breton and French, often on politically engaged lyrics. Their debut album, “Dañs an diaoul” (2006), established the foundations of this hybrid aesthetic, continued by “Amzer an Dispac’h” (2010), “Tan ar bobl” (2014) and “Breizh Anok” (2017), which notably include collaborations with singer Louise Ebrel and the bagad Bro Kemperlé. A strong presence on festival stages in Brittany and across Europe, Les Ramoneurs de Menhirs move between punk circuits, activist networks and traditional music programming, maintaining a regular live schedule alongside new compositions.
