LEA
Born in 1992 in Kassel, Germany, Lea‑Marie Becker, who performs under the name LEA, has built a singer‑songwriter career at the intersection of German pop and intimate, text‑driven songcraft. First noticed through videos she posted at a young age, she gradually moved from acoustic, piano‑centred formats to more produced pop writing while keeping German lyrics focused on relationships, doubt and everyday life. After settling in Berlin, LEA made a name for herself on the German‑speaking scene with the album Vakuum (2016), which established an aesthetic of spare ballads and subtle electro‑pop arrangements; Zwischen meinen Zeilen (2018) and Treppenhaus (2020) followed, broadening the palette with more rhythmic tracks without abandoning the introspective core. Her fourth album Fluss (2022) continues this trajectory with more contemporary pop orchestrations and direct choruses. Through collaborations — notably with the duo Gestört aber GeiL and artists from the rap and German pop scenes — LEA navigates club stages, mainstream festivals and concert halls, assembling a repertoire where piano ballads, radio‑friendly pop and mid‑tempo songs with understated production intersect, always centred on her clear voice and distinctive phrasing.
