Malo'
Franco-Australian, Malo' forges a path between acoustic pop, folk and chanson, focusing on songwriting, melody and a frequently bilingual performance in French and English. Self-taught, Malo' learned several instruments before he began composing his own songs, then moved to Australia as a teenager where he produced and recorded his first album, The Old Way, entirely on his own. Spotted by a French label, he returned to France and released Be/Être in 2017, an album that extends this personal songwriting in an accessible pop-folk format, notably featuring the track I Believed. During this period, Malo' performed regularly on stage, touring with his musicians, and opened for Charlie Winston and Vianney, as well as playing a date at the Stade de France with Les Insus. His subsequent work remains rooted in singer-songwriter pop with spare arrangements, as illustrated by Laisse-toi tranquille, a track co-produced with Sage.
