Kirk Fletcher

Born in 1975 in Bellflower, California, Kirk Fletcher grew up in Compton in an environment shaped by his father’s Baptist church, where he began playing guitar at a very young age before also performing in school settings and on the local Southern California scene. Fletcher plays an electric blues rooted in the West Coast tradition, with a style that incorporates touches of soul, gospel and jazz, and a singing voice that appeared later in his recorded output. Active since the 1990s, he made his mark in Los Angeles clubs and then alongside Kim Wilson with Wilson’s Blues Revue, before working with Charlie Musselwhite — an important experience in the development of his sound. He later joined the Hollywood Blue Flames, took part in The Mannish Boys’ activities, and was a member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds from 2005 to 2008. As a solo artist, Kirk Fletcher has released, among others, Shades of Blue (2003), My Turn (2010), Hold On (2018), My Blues Pathway (2020), Heartache By The Pound (2022) and Keep On Pushing (2025). At various times based between Europe and the United States, he has also toured with Joe Bonamassa and worked in a broader register, including collaborations with Eros Ramazzotti.
