Bernard Allison
Bernard Allison is a major figure in modern blues, known for blending the electric energy of contemporary blues with its deepest roots. Born in 1965 in Chicago, the genre's historic capital, he grew up alongside his father, blues legend Luther Allison, from whom he inherited both stage intensity and musical authenticity. Yet Bernard never settled for being merely an heir: a brilliant guitarist, an intense singer and a charismatic performer, he has forged a powerful sonic identity shaped by funk, soul and rock, while remaining true to the spirit of the blues. In 2024 he pays tribute to his father with Luther's Blues, a double album in which he does not seek to reproduce but to extend and elevate a legacy, transforming it into his own artistic manifesto. A living link between the past and the future of the blues.
