Keeno

Under the name Keeno, Will Keen has developed since the early 2010s a drum and bass approach marked by melodic and harmonic work derived from orchestral music. Born in Winchester, Hampshire, the British producer and DJ first drew attention with a series of singles and EPs, then with ‘Nocturne’ in 2013, before releasing his debut album Life Cycle in 2014 on Med School, Hospital Records’ imprint dedicated to the more atmospheric sides of the genre. There Keeno refines a sound that blends fast rhythms, cinematic pads, piano, strings and guest vocals in an aesthetic that is more contemplative than confrontational. That direction continued with Futurist (2016), All the Shimmering Things (2017) and I Live I Learn (2020), released after his move from Med School to Hospital Records. Across his discography Keeno has also released many short formats and collaborations, notably with Whiney, Louisa Bass, Etherwood and Rou Reynolds. His track ‘Nocturne’ was also featured in the game Forza Horizon 2. Keeno has since pursued an independent path, notably with the EP Courage in 2023.
