Lisa Hannigan
Born in Dublin and raised in Kilcloon, in County Meath, Lisa Hannigan has established herself in an independent folk register with soft contours, where intimate writing, acoustic arrangements and chamber pop intersect. She first appears in the early 2000s as a member of Damien Rice's band, supporting tours and appearing on the albums O (2002) and 9 (2006), before launching her solo career from 2007. Hannigan subsequently releases Sea Sew in 2008, followed by Passenger in 2011 and At Swim in 2016, three records that extend a delicate aesthetic based on spare melodies, crafted vocal harmonies and a pronounced attention to textures. Over the years she has performed on stages such as Glastonbury, Electric Picnic or Later... with Jools Holland, while developing a regular collaboration, notably with Aaron Dessner, The National, Herbie Hancock or The Cake Sale. Her trajectory also extends to cinema and animation, with contributions to several soundtracks and a voice role in Steven Universe. Between folk, indie pop and discreet orchestration, Lisa Hannigan builds a tight and coherent discography, carried by a soft, agile and highly pared-back interpretation.
