Lucy Rose

Born in Camberley, Surrey, Lucy Rose has developed an intimate songwriting style that sits between folk rock, indie folk and acoustic pop, carried by a gentle voice and spare arrangements in which guitar, piano and harmonies remain central. Settling in London at the end of her teens, Lucy Rose first attracted attention by lending her voice to several Bombay Bicycle Club tracks, with whom she also toured in the early 2010s, before building a solo career. Her debut album, Like I Used To, was released in 2012, followed by Work It Out in 2015, where her writing opened up to poppier textures. After leaving the major-label system, Lucy Rose released Something’s Changing in 2017 on Communion, an album nourished by a trip to Latin America documented in a film of the same name and by a series of concerts staged close to her audience. Lucy Rose continued with No Words Left in 2019, more stripped-back and piano-centered, then with This Ain’t The Way You Go Out in 2024. Over the years she has also collaborated with Manic Street Preachers, Paul Weller, Logic and reunited from time to time with Bombay Bicycle Club.
