Jessie Reyez

Born in Toronto to a Colombian-origin family and raised in Brampton, Jessie Reyez develops a very direct writing style that blends contemporary R&B, pop and hip-hop, with a rasping voice, often on the boundary of confession and rhythmic tension. After beginnings in the mid-2010s and a formative stint with The Remix Project in Toronto, Jessie Reyez was noticed with the tracks 'Shutter Island' and then 'Figures' in 2016, before releasing the EP Kiddo in 2017. This first format establishes a sober, tense and highly vocal aesthetic, extended by Being Human in Public in 2018, where Jessie Reyez refines a register between soul ballads, melodic spoken word and drier, rap-influenced tracks. Parallel to her solo career, she writes for other artists, notably on Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa's 'One Kiss', and collaborates with Eminem, 6lack, Tainy, Lewis Capaldi, Beyoncé or 070 Shake. Her debut album Before Love Came to Kill Us appears in 2020, followed by Yessie in 2022, then Paid in Memories in 2025 and A Little Vengeance in 2026. On stage, Jessie Reyez alternates headlining tours and opening acts for artists like Billie Eilish, Sam Smith or Jhené Aiko, in a format centered on the intensity of performance and the importance of the text.
