Lacrim
Born in Paris in 1985 and partly raised in Chevilly-Larue, Lacrim, whose real name is Karim Zenoud, established himself in French rap from the late 2000s, after his early tracks and several collaborations with Mister You. His universe sits between street rap, gangsta rap, trap and, more recently, drill, with direct writing, a deep voice and a marked taste for tense narratives, references to crime cinema and dark atmospheres. After the mixtape Liberté provisoire in 2010, Lacrim followed with Faites entrer Lacrim in 2012, the EP Né pour mourir in 2013, and the album Corleone in 2014, which marked an important milestone in his reach. The R.I.P.R.O. series, begun in 2015, accompanies the evolution of his style toward more melodic productions without breaking with a street base, while Force & Honneur in 2017, LACRIM in 2019, Persona non grata in 2021, Veni Vidi Vici in 2024 and RIPRO in 2025 extend this journey. Lacrim moves between French scenes, collaborations with Francophone rappers and openings to international artists, in an aesthetics where mafia imagery, personal narratives and codes of contemporary rap intersect.
