Niaks

From Mantes-la-Jolie, in the Yvelines, Niaks operates within a street rap tradition nourished both by the legacy of French rap from the 1990s and 2000s and by the genre's more recent codes. His direct writing, everyday-rooted narratives and tense delivery create a dark, frontal and occasionally melodic aesthetic, while remaining within a realistic register. Emerging in the early 2020s, Niaks first gained attention with tracks and projects built around a strongly marked street universe, before broadening his visibility on the French rap scene. His trajectory shows a clear continuity between the claimed references of the 78 and a more contemporary way of delivering lines, with often restrained trap and drill productions focused on the tension of the narrative. Niaks has also shared tracks with rappers such as Maes and ZKR. In 2025 he released the album TOUT DROIT, which continues this line while opening it to several collaborations, including PLK, Leto, Naza, Niro and Mister You.
