Kobosil

Emerging from Berlin’s techno scene, Kobosil has developed since the early 2010s a dark, physical approach to the dancefloor informed by the industrial aesthetics and post‑rave atmospheres of his hometown. First noticed as a producer by the Ostgut Ton label, he soon became affiliated with the Berghain club and one of its regular residents, shaping his DJ career around fast, percussive and highly structured sets. Kobosil’s music blends abrasive textures, minimal melodic lines and ambient layers, favouring prolonged tension buildups over immediate effects, with inflections drawn from EBM, trance and certain strands of noise. In 2016 the album “We Grow, You Decline,” released on Ostgut Ton, marked a key moment in his discography by opening his palette to more varied tempos and listening‑oriented tracks. At the same time Kobosil founded the R Label Group, which became a rallying point for a generation of techno producers oriented toward a direct, dense and contrasted sound, while providing a frame for his own maxi singles and collaborations. Active both in clubs and at festivals, Kobosil adapts this sonic vocabulary to large‑scale contexts without breaking with the radical aesthetic that characterises his studio productions.
