Kim

Born in 1990 in the Paris region, Kim Almarcha, who performs under the name Kim, develops a repertoire at the crossroads of zouk, RnB and pop, nourished by Anglo-Saxon vocal references and by the Antillean music linked to her Martiniquais, French and Spanish origins. Her first steps on stage date back to the mid-2000s, with performances in Île-de-France and then a participation in a musical that leads her to compete in numerous contests and on local stages. From 2008, her collaboration with songwriter Mélo Gangstaa accompanies the structuring of her solo project. Kim then releases the album Premiers Pas in 2009, the starting point of a wider exposure in the Francophone zouk landscape. Over the years, Kim refines a writing centered on romantic relationships and intimate emotions, carried by a flexible melodic singing and productions that blend Caribbean rhythms, urban ballads and pop refrains. After several singles released in the 2010s, she releases the album Kim in 2016, then continues her journey with new collaborations, notably with Gazo on “Love Lovè”. In 2023, Kim returns with the album Évidence, which also brings together Franglish, Landy and Didi B. Present on the Francophone Afro-Caribbean scene, Kim evolves in a repertoire where contemporary zouk dialogues with the codes of French RnB.
