Fleddy Melculy

Born in Pepingen, in Flemish Brabant, Fleddy Melculy formed in 2016 around Jeroen Camerlynck with an approach that blends metal, hardcore, and Dutch-language lyrics marked by humor that is often absurd. The band quickly emerged in Flanders with the track “T-Shirt van Metallica,” then very quickly moved from online beginnings to stages at Belgian festivals such as Pukkelpop and Graspop Metal Meeting, where Fleddy Melculy registers in a register that is both direct, satirical, and rooted in the codes of contemporary heavy metal. Behind the parodic dimension of the name and some lyrics, the music remains built on heavy riffs, hardcore rhythms, and direct live energy. After the EP Wat de fok? in 2016, Fleddy Melculy released the albums Helgië (2016), De kerk van Melculy (2018), Sabbath Fleddy Sabbath (2020), And Just Niks for All (2021) and Antichlist (2023), as well as the live album Live @ Graspop Metal Meeting ’18 (2018). The band’s trajectory also includes major opening acts, notably for Guns N’ Roses, and organizing its own event, Fleddypalooza, at the Ancienne Belgique. Over the years, Fleddy Melculy has kept this mix of irony, metal culture, and hardcore energy that shapes its identity on stage as well as in the studio.
