Walls of Jericho

Formed in Detroit in 1998, Walls of Jericho established itself in the American metalcore scene with a sound that blends hardcore punk, thrash metal and choppy riffs, carried by Candace Kucsulain's abrasive vocals. The band first drew attention with the short releases Underestimated in 1999 and A Day and a Thousand Years the same year, before issuing its first album, The Bound Feed the Gagged, in 2000. After an initial period of activity interrupted in 2001, Walls of Jericho reformed in 2003, relaunched tours and broadened its presence on hardcore and metal stages in North America as well as Europe. This revival led to All Hail the Dead in 2004, then With Devils Amongst Us All in 2006 and The American Dream in 2008, records that confirm a direct, nervous and dense writing, between thrash accelerations, heavy breaks and hardcore energy. In the same year, Walls of Jericho also released the EP Redemption, recorded with the participation of Corey Taylor, in an acoustic register unusual for the band. Later, the lineup returned with No One Can Save You from Yourself in 2016 on Napalm Records. Despite a more spaced activity since the late 2010s, Walls of Jericho continues to appear on stage from time to time, with a lineup marked by Candace Kucsulain's enduring presence, Aaron Ruby and Dustin Schoenhofer.
