Doodseskader

Formed in Belgium in 2020, Doodseskader brings together Tim De Gieter — also active in Amenra — and Sigfried Burroughs, who previously played with Kapitan Korsakov and Paard. The project operates as a duo that deliberately blurs the boundaries between several heavy, abrasive registers, mixing sludge, grunge, hardcore, noise rock and passages closer to hip‑hop and rap. Doodseskader first drew attention for a tense writing style built on stark contrasts between massive riffs, angular rhythms and vocal phrasing that alternates between saturation, scansion and spoken word. This approach has gradually expanded its spectrum without settling into a single aesthetic, while remaining rooted in the European alternative and heavy scenes. On stage Doodseskader has shared bills with Brutus and Amenra and performed at several festivals dedicated to extreme or independent music, including Hellfest, Mystic Festival, Lokerse Feesten and Fluff Fest. Between a post‑metal inheritance, punk energy and openings toward more contemporary forms, Doodseskader develops a direct, dense and hybrid format.
