Ferocious Dog

Based in Warsop, Nottinghamshire, Ferocious Dog has developed since the early 2010s an English folk punk that blends punk energy with Celtic folk rock, ska punk and a pronounced use of violin, banjo and other acoustic instruments. Their music relies on fast, melodic and direct songs carried by a collective sound where traditional arrangements meet a rougher rock foundation. After several EPs, Ferocious Dog released a self-titled debut album in 2013, followed by From Without (2015), Red (2017), Fake News & Propaganda (2019), The Hope (2021) and Kleptocracy (2024). The band has also issued acoustic records, including Ferocious Dog 3 Piece Acoustic (2014) and From Without Acoustic (2017), as well as live recordings. On stage, Ferocious Dog has established itself within the British festival circuit and rock and folk venues, appearing at Glastonbury, Beautiful Days and Bearded Theory, while touring with acts such as New Model Army, The Levellers and The Wonder Stuff. This trajectory has produced a repertoire where punk momentum remains tied to songwriting informed by social and personal themes.
