Fenne Lily
Born in Dorset and based in Bristol from the end of her adolescence, Fenne Lily writes in an indie folk register that blends acoustic guitar, discreet rock tension, and restrained singing. She began playing very young on Bristol's local scene, then quickly circulated in British festivals in the mid-2010s, with a notable appearance on BBC Introducing. Fenne Lily released her first album, On Hold, in 2018, initially independently, in an intimate and frontal folk vein where writing takes center stage. After several touring dates as a supporting act, notably with Lucy Dacus, she broadened her musical scope by joining the Dead Oceans label and released Breach in 2020, a more expansive record where electric arrangements and a more collective approach shift her songwriting without moving away from her melodic precision. Big Picture, released in 2023, extends this evolution with a sound that is more open, between understated indie rock, contemporary folk, and sober alternative pop. Between the UK, Europe and the United States, Fenne Lily has built a career tied as much to small rooms as to more established tours, while maintaining a personal writing focused on observation, doubt and human relationships.
