Flyte
In the early 2010s, London outfit Flyte emerged on the British indie scene with songwriting built on vocal harmonies and a narrative sensibility shaped by 1960s–70s pop and folk. Formed around Will Taylor and Nick Hill—initially a four‑piece before narrowing to this core duo—Flyte have carved out a space between indie pop, folk and soft rock, marked by clean guitars, interwoven voices and pared‑back arrangements. After a run of early singles and EPs that established them within the alternative landscape, the band released 2017’s The Loved Ones, showcasing a taste for precise melodic structures and finely crafted lyrics. They followed in 2021 with This Is Really Going to Hurt, made with producer Andrew Sarlo, a more intimate record that sharpens the acoustic focus and foregrounds the words. Their third album, the self‑titled Flyte (2023), extends this move toward a more stripped‑back writing style, led by vocal duets and a contemporary folk‑pop palette, while preserving the melodic signposts that define the Flyte sound.
