Hugel

DJ and producer Hugel, originally from Marseille, France, gained attention in the mid-2010s with a string of dance-pop and vocal house singles before gradually emphasizing more percussive and Latin elements in his productions. His collaboration with Robin Schulz on “I Believe I’m Fine” in 2017 marked a notable milestone, followed by his remix of “Bella Ciao” for El Profesor in 2018 and the single “WTF” with Amber Van Day the same year, which brought Hugel to a wider audience. From 2020 onward he stepped up his DJ activities across European and international stages while adopting an aesthetic closer to tech house, exemplified by “Morenita” with Cumbiafrica in 2021, which synthesizes his taste for Latin vocals, punchy basslines and club-ready arrangements. Between studio productions and sets in major clubs and festivals, Hugel thus maintains a profile as an electronic artist centered on house, adaptable to both radio and late-night dancefloors.
