Horse Meat Disco
Born in London in the early 2000s around the Eagle nights in Vauxhall, Horse Meat Disco brings together DJs James Hillard, Jim Stanton, Luke Howard and Severino Panzetta in a collective shaped by London’s queer club culture. Their approach blends New York and European disco, boogie, house, Italo disco, soul and hi‑NRG, with a marked taste for cross‑cutting selections that link classics, rarities and contemporary productions. Initially known for a Sunday residency that became a staple of London’s nightlife, Horse Meat Disco gradually expanded to regular dates outside the UK and to an international circuit of clubs and festivals. Alongside their collective DJ work, Horse Meat Disco built a discography of mixes, compilations and original productions, and released the album Love and Dancing in 2020. The project thus occupies a distinctive space between celebratory archiving, reworking of African‑American and European dance music, and writing tracks that extend this legacy without succumbing to mere nostalgia.
