Young Pulse

Based in Paris, Young Pulse is a producer and DJ focused on the connections between disco, funk, soul and house, with a marked interest in repertoire reworkings and vocal arrangements. Active since the 2000s and more widely identified during the 2010s, Young Pulse releases a series of dancefloor-oriented edits and remixes, often drawing on boogie and New York disco, which have established him on the international scene of soulful electronic music. His maxis and edit series appear on several specialised labels, and he simultaneously pursues studio collaborations with singers and musicians from soul, pop and jazz-funk, working on formats ranging from club singles to more album-focused projects. Behind the decks, Young Pulse favours sets that blend reissued classics, his own productions and current house tracks into a rhythmic continuity that reflects his crate-digger culture. Between production, remix and DJing, Young Pulse thus occupies a crossroads of modernised disco, vocal house and nu-funk, linking the heritage of African-American music with European electronic sensibilities.
