Heiko Laux

Active since the mid-1990s on the German electronic scene, Heiko Laux has developed a trajectory rooted in sober, hypnotic and disciplined techno, often associated with minimal techno without being limited to it. The German producer and DJ founded the Kanzleramt label in Bad Nauheim in 1994, initially to release his own productions and later to host artists such as Johannes Heil, Christian Morgenstern, Patrick Lindsey and Anthony Rother. This label activity has accompanied his personal work released on K2O and U-Turn, as well as on imprints like Harthouse, Kurbel and Klockworks. His style relies on dry rhythms, repetitive sequences, a slow progression and a pronounced attention to spatial placement in the mix — conceived for the club but crafted with restraint. Under his own name and through several aliases and parallel projects, Heiko Laux has maintained a steady presence as a producer, label director and DJ, with sustained circulation on European techno scenes since 1994.
