Eagle-Eye Cherry
Born in Stockholm into a family of artists as the son of jazz trumpeter Don Cherry and artist Moki Cherry, Eagle-Eye Cherry grew up between Sweden and New York. He initially gravitated toward theatre before refocusing his career on songwriting. His music is rooted in acoustic pop-rock, with influences from alternative rock and light post-grunge, and places strong emphasis on melodies, guitars and a restrained vocal delivery. Eagle-Eye Cherry emerged in the late 1990s with the album Desireless (1997) and the hit Save Tonight, which quickly established him on the international pop-rock scene. He followed with Living in the Present Future (2000) and Sub Rosa (2003), where his writing moved toward a more direct sound, between song format, melodic rock and folk-tinged elements. Over his career he has collaborated with artists such as Santana on Wishing It Was and reunited with his half-sister Neneh Cherry on Long Way Around. After a long recording hiatus he returned with Can’t Get Enough (2012), Streets of You (2018) and Back on Track (2023), maintaining his blend of soft rock, adult pop and introspective songwriting.
