Linnea Henriksson

Born in Halmstad, Sweden, Linnea Henriksson has shaped a career that sits between Swedish pop, chanson and a jazz legacy. Her melodic songwriting is supple, and her performances are often distinguished by light, rhythmic and intimate arrangements. Trained among others at Skurups folkhögskola, Henriksson began in jazz with the group Prylf, formed in 2007, which released the album Kind of Green in 2010. That same year her profile grew with her participation in the TV show Idol Sverige, where she finished fourth, after which she embarked on a solo path. She released her first single, Väldigt kär/Obegripligt ensam, in 2011, and the album Till mina älskade och älskare in 2012, partly written with Orup — a collaboration that accompanied her shift from a jazz-pop register toward a more direct pop, while remaining attentive to vocal nuances. In 2014 Du söker bråk, jag kräver dans confirmed this direction. Over the years Henriksson has alternated personal releases, tours in Sweden and television projects, appearing both on mainstream stages and in more acoustic settings. She also appears on Avicii’s Hope There’s Someone on the album True (2013), and released the EP Till Från in 2019. Linnea Henriksson continues to evolve a Swedish-language pop in which echoes of jazz and chanson persist.
