Fuming Mouth

Born in Milford, Massachusetts, Fuming Mouth has since 2013 developed a cross between death metal and hardcore punk, with a dense, direct sound and a penchant for old-school death metal. The band first made a name for itself in American hardcore and metal circles with several short releases, including Demo (2013), Lotus (2016), and Beyond the Tomb (2020), before releasing its first album, The Grand Descent, in 2019. Led by Mark Whelan on vocals and guitar, Fuming Mouth structures its songs around massive riffs, changing tempos, and a constant tension between frontal violence and a darker approach, without straying from compact writing. After signing with Nuclear Blast in 2020, the band's path was interrupted by Mark Whelan's illness, diagnosed as acute myeloid leukemia in 2021, an episode that strongly shaped the rest of its work. Returning to the stage in late 2022, Fuming Mouth resumed American and then European tours, notably alongside The Black Dahlia Murder, Terror, and Suffocation. Their second album, Last Day of Sun, released in 2023, extends this evolution with a clearer balance between death metal brutality, hardcore roots, and heavier atmospheres.
