Gridiron
Born in the United States within the context of the East Coast hardcore scene, Gridiron took shape during the Covid period from online jam sessions that quickly evolved into collaborative songwriting. Gridiron blends a very physical hardcore foundation with elements of metal and death metal and a vocal approach that also borrows from hip‑hop — between swaggering phrasing, heavy groove and shifts in tone. This mix yields short, direct tracks often built on massive riffs, tempo changes and a constant tension between hardcore mosh parts and more metallic accents. After the EP Loyalty At All Costs in 2020, Gridiron followed up with Worldwide Brotherhood in 2021, two releases that established the band's identity at an intentional crossroads between contemporary hardcore and broader references to American rap and metal culture. The band then moved to the long‑play format with No Good at Goodbyes in 2022, which extended and broadened that formula, before continuing with Poetry From Pain. Gridiron thus sits within a scene where the codes of hardcore, extreme metal and rap circulate, without committing to a single tradition.
