Cesare Cremonini

Born in Bologna in 1980, Cesare Cremonini first established himself at the end of the 1990s with Lùnapop, a pop-rock group formed in the local Emilia scene, before pursuing a solo career from 2002. His writing sits within a melodic Italian pop that dialogues with the tradition of canzone d’autore, while incorporating rock accents, orchestral arrangements and a central use of the piano. After the album ...Squérez? with Lùnapop in 1999, he opens his personal trajectory with Bagùs in 2002, then refines a broader and more narrative format on Maggese in 2005 and Il primo bacio sulla Luna in 2008. Cesare Cremonini then develops a discography where the songwriter dimension remains linked to a direct pop aesthetic, visible on La teoria dei colori in 2012, Logico in 2014, Possibili scenari in 2017, La ragazza del futuro in 2022 and Alaska Baby in 2024. Over the years, he has also multiplied collaborations with artists such as Jovanotti, Malika Ayane, Luca Carboni, Elisa or Lucio Dalla, while maintaining regular live performance activity between theatres, venues and stadiums. Cesare Cremonini today occupies a singular place in contemporary Italian pop, with songs built around melody, a very clear chorus sense and arrangement work that alternates sobriety and grandeur.
