Cat Clyde
Based in Ontario, Canada, Cat Clyde is part of a folk and roots scene where blues, country and Americana influences intersect. The musician emerged in the mid-2010s with songwriting centered on the voice, spare guitars and a marked taste for acoustic atmospheres. Cat Clyde released her debut studio album, "Ivory Castanets," in 2017, establishing a blend of folk and blues with retro accents, followed by "Hunters Trance" in 2019, which leans more electric and psychedelic. In 2020 Cat Clyde recorded "Blue Blue Blue" with singer Jeremie Albino, a collaboration highlighting a folk-country duet register. The record "Good Bones" (2022) offers more stripped-down versions of several songs from her repertoire, featuring tighter acoustic arrangements. With "Down Rounder" (2023), Cat Clyde continues exploring songwriting that oscillates between slow folk ballads, bluesy pieces and tracks rooted in laid-back rock, while maintaining a warm, minimalist aesthetic.
