Tara Clerkin Trio
Based in Bristol, England, Tara Clerkin Trio is built around singer‑songwriter Tara Clerkin in a trio format that links dream pop, dub, hushed jazz, ambient and trip‑hop with a strong focus on space, texture and slow rhythms. The project emerged around the turn of the 2020s on the World of Echo label with a self‑titled EP released in 2020, which already featured veiled vocals, supple bass lines and a subtle use of repetition. Tara Clerkin Trio continued this approach on Holding Hands With The Night (2021) and the album In Spring (2022), increasingly opening their songs to experimental pop with hazy contours, threaded by dub pulses and minimalist arrangements. Situated within Bristol’s independent scene, Tara Clerkin Trio develops concise, atmospheric music on the border between songcraft, soft electronics and a chamber‑like compositional approach, where timbre, the circulation of motifs and the restraint of the arrangements are central.
