Hermitage Green

Formed in Limerick in 2010, Hermitage Green developed on the local Irish scene before expanding their activity to the UK and Australia. The project operates as a quintet and places its music in an acoustic folk-rock register, with songs built around organic arrangements, vocal harmonies and songwriting close to the pop-folk format, while retaining the energy of a live band. Hermitage Green first drew attention with the EP The Gathering in 2012, followed by the live release Live at Whelans in 2013, which documents an initial phase closely tied to the scene. In 2015 the band signed with Sony Music Ireland and prepared their first studio album, Save Your Soul, released in 2016. That same year the group issued Live at the Curragower Bar, an EP recorded as a nod to their beginnings in a Limerick pub. Hermitage Green then continued independently with the EP Gold & Rust in 2017 and the album Hi Generation in 2021. Throughout this evolution the band has remained associated with an accessible acoustic aesthetic, sitting between contemporary folk, melodic rock and live-concert culture.
