Caroline Henderson

Born in Stockholm in 1962 into a Swedish‑American family, Caroline Henderson relocated to Denmark in the early 1980s and first established herself on the local pop scene. She became known as a member of the groups News and then Ray Dee Ohh before launching a solo career in 1995 with the album Cinemataztic, which blends pop, soul and electronic touches. With Metamorphing in 1998 she developed a darker, more cinematic style and then gradually moved toward vocal jazz. From Don't Explain (2003), focused on standards, her discography concentrated on ballads and reinterpretations of the American songbook and of European repertoires, as evidenced by Love or Nothin’ (2006), No. 8 (2008) and Jazz, Love & Henderson (2012). Based in Copenhagen, Caroline Henderson has also explored Nordic musical heritage on Den danske sang (2015) and examined links between musical theatre, cabaret and chanson on Lonely House (2013) and Believe in Jazz (2019). Alongside her recordings she regularly performs on club and festival stages across Scandinavia and has developed a parallel career as an actress in film and theatre.
