Jesper Binzer

Danish singer and guitarist Jesper Binzer rose to prominence in the mid-1980s as the lead voice of the rock band D-A-D, born out of Copenhagen’s music scene. Born in Frederiksberg, he helped shape D-A-D’s sound, which sits between hard rock, classic rock and punk energy, characterized by direct riffs and an abrasive vocal style. Over the decades Binzer has toured internationally with the band, refined his songwriting and taken an active role in composing, while remaining associated with the European rock aesthetic of the 1990s and 2000s. Parallel to his work with the band he launched a more introspective, melodic solo strand with the album "Dying Is Easy" (2017), marked by guitar-driven, classic-leaning rock, mid-tempo rhythms and lyrics focused on identity and the passage of time. He continued this personal approach with "Save Your Soul" (2022), mixing muscular rock, Americana influences and song formats that are more stripped-down than those in D-A-D. Still active on stage, Binzer now alternates between concerts with D-A-D and his solo projects, building a career where Danish rock culture, direct songwriting and electric sonorities intersect.
