Defecto
Formed in Denmark in 2011 around singer and guitarist Nicklas Sonne, Defecto evolves in a register blending melodic metal and progressive metal, with writing focused on contrasts between nerve-wracking riffs, clear vocal lines, and more developed structures. The band also includes Frederik Møller on guitar, Morten Gade Sørensen on drums, and Thomas Bartholin on bass, in a quartet configuration that combines rhythmic power and technical precision without tipping into showmanship. After a self-titled debut EP released in 2012, Defecto releases Excluded in 2016, then Nemesis in 2017, affirming a sound where modern heavy metal intersects with progressive arrangements and a pronounced sense of melody. On stage, Defecto quickly established itself in the Danish metal circuit with appearances at Copenhell in 2016 and 2018, while serving as the opening act for Metallica at the Royal Arena in 2017 and for Rammstein in Horsens the same year. The band then continues its journey with Duality in 2020, before expanding its scope further by collaborating in 2019 with Jakob Stegelmann and Aarhus Symphony Orchestra for the Troldspejlet in Symphony project. Defecto's discography also includes Echoes Of Isolation in 2025.
