Brookes Brothers
Formed by brothers Phil and Dan Brookes in London, the Brookes Brothers have evolved since the early 2000s in a drum and bass spectrum that blends liquid funk, melodic bass music and direct club-writing. The duo emerged with the singles Portal / Desert Island in 2006, before releasing on W10, Breakbeat Kaos and later Viper Recordings, aligning with the British wave that then brought a luminous, fast and highly legible drum and bass back to the forefront. Their music rests on supple basslines, incisive rhythms and clear vocal refrains or synthetic themes, never straying from the energy of the dancefloor. Their career includes collaborations with Sub Focus, Culture Shock, Danny Byrd, ShockOne and Kove, as well as regular remix work for artists from both pop and electronic music. After a self-titled first album Brookes Brothers, released in 2011, the duo issued Orange Lane in 2017 before continuing a sustained activity through a series of singles. Based in the UK and internationally, Brookes Brothers maintain an accessible and effective approach, balancing production precision with sound system culture.
