Conjurer

Formed in Rugby, Warwickshire, England, Conjurer has since 2014 been developing a metal style situated between sludge, post-metal and doom, with dense writing that alternates between rhythmic mass, abrasive guitars and more atmospheric passages. The quartet first built itself on stage, touring extensively the British circuit, before releasing the EP I in 2016 and then their debut album Mire in 2018. This period also marks their appearances at several festivals connected to the heavy and alternative scenes, including Bloodstock, Damnation, ArcTanGent, 2000trees and Download, as well as tours with bands such as Conan, Rivers of Nihil, Voivod, End or Carcass. In 2019, Conjurer signed with Nuclear Blast and broadened its activity with several side releases, including Conjurer on Audiotree Live, the collaborative project Curse These Metal Hands with Pijn, and a split with Palm Reader. After a rhythm section change, with the arrival of bassist Conor Marshall and then drummer Noah See, Conjurer released Pathos in 2022, an album that sharpens the balance between frontal violence, melodic tension and more progressive formats. Conjurer thus remains tied to a British scene where extreme metal, post-hardcore and post-rock intersect, while maintaining an identity founded on the contrast between heaviness, scope and urgency.
