Daran

Anchored in the French rock scene since the early 1990s, Daran has developed a singer-songwriter practice where francophone song meets rock sounds. First known as singer and guitarist with the band Daran et les Chaises, he was part of the renewal of rock sung in French before pursuing a more personal path under his own name. Over the 2000s, Daran refined a repertoire centered on the text, often written in a narrative style, with arrangements that range from electric energy and pop-rock formats to more stripped-down, folk-like atmospheres. Based in Montréal after a long career in France, Daran now divides his activity between French and Quebec stages, alternating band concerts with more intimate formats. In addition to his studio albums and regular tours, he also works as a composer and producer for other projects, feeding a sonic universe in constant motion between chanson, rock and North American influences.
