Dany Brillant
Born in 1965 in Tunis, Dany Brillant grew up in the Paris region after his parents settled in France and turned to singing and performing at an early age. He trained in the cabarets of Saint‑Germain‑des‑Prés, notably Aux Trois Mailletz, where he built a repertoire combining crooner standards, swing and French chanson and adopted the stage name Dany Brillant. The song 'Suzette' in the early 1990s marked his breakthrough to a wide audience and launched a career centered on a blend of chanson, vocal jazz and Latin rhythms. Over the years Dany Brillant developed an aesthetic in which brass, big‑band arrangements, bolero, mambo and salsa sit alongside more intimate ballads, often drawing on the traditions of French variété. On stage he favors orchestral lineups geared toward dance and regularly appears in concert halls and francophone festivals. Alongside his work as a singer, he has occasionally appeared in film and television, extending this crooner image across romantic comedy, urban popular music and the legacy of Latin musics.
