Originally from Minsk and now based in Warsaw, SOYUZ is a collective led by multi‑instrumentalists Alex Chumak and Mikita Arlou. Joined by Albert Karch and Igor Wiśniewski, the group embodies a union of Eastern European influences and international openness. Their music—at the crossroads of jazz, folk and sophisticated pop—is distinguished by meticulous arrangements and a wide interpretive freedom. Revealed by Force of the Wind and praised by Bandcamp and the BBC, SOYUZ has established itself as a distinctive project on the contemporary scene. Their new album KROK, due October 2025 on Mr Bongo, continues this search for balance between Belarusian heritage and Brazilian inspirations; it was recorded between São Paulo, Stockholm and Warsaw with Tim Bernardes and Manami Kakudo. A cosmopolitan, poetic work true to their name: the union of worlds.
