World Brain
Under the name WORLD BRAIN, Lucas Chantre develops a francophone solo project located at the intersection of experimental pop, jazz, electronics and a compositional style with cinematic overtones. World Brain explores the connections between connectivity, technology and human experience, creating music that blends nostalgic digital textures, live-played instruments and supple melodies without settling into a single genre. This approach is particularly clear on Open Source, released in 2024, where Lucas Chantre frames open, sometimes introspective compositions around a sound that is both organic and synthetic. The presence of his sister Noémie, whose French-language voice runs through the album, provides an intimate counterpoint to this world marked by exploration and the reshaping of formats. World Brain thus operates in an independent space where song, experimentation and electronic music engage in a fluid dialogue, with constant attention to variations in texture, rhythm and narrative.
