SHOLTO

Sholto, born Oscar Robertson in London, has been forging since 2013 a hybrid path between songwriting, production and collaborations that have taken him from Los Angeles — where he works with Nick Waterhouse — to the UK alongside Inflo and Dan Carey. He also forms half of the studio duo SFJ, who have worked with Miles Kane, Katy J Pearson, Wet Leg, Spiritualized and Tess Parks. As a session drummer he performs with Confidence Man, Yak, Sinead O’Brien, Geowulf and Baxter Dury, and accompanies artists such as Sven Wunder, Derya Yildirim, WITCH and Dina Ögon. Inspired by film composers of the 1950s to 1970s, he has developed a cinematic writing style that reaches its full expression on his 2023 album The Changing Tides of Dreams, blending psychedelic arrangements, muted jazz, analogue textures and influences drawn from cinema, classical music and experimental approaches.
