Bilal Hassani
Born in 1999 in Paris to a family of Moroccan origin, Bilal Hassani is part of the francophone pop scene, blending variété, electropop and urban influences. He first reached a broad audience through his participation in The Voice Kids in 2015 and quickly developed a career as a content creator on YouTube, where both his vocal practice and an aesthetic strongly shaped by pop culture and make-up took shape. His recording career gained momentum after he was selected to represent France at Eurovision 2019 with the song “Roi”, co-written with the duo Madame Monsieur, which established a mix of balladry and electronic production. The debut album “Kingdom” was released in 2019, followed by “Contre soirée” in 2020 and “Théorème” in 2021, confirming a songwriting focus on self-assertion, intimate relationships and the construction of a queer identity within contemporary pop. Between singles, occasional collaborations and television appearances, Bilal Hassani alternates stage performances, studio recordings and a digital presence, occupying a distinctive place between French chanson, internet culture and club music.
