Ola Englund

Swedish guitarist Ola Englund, born in 1981, came up through Stockholm’s metal scene as a teenager and went on to play in several bands, including Scarpoint, Facing Death, Subcyde and Sorcerer. His career spans death metal, groove metal, thrash and progressive metal, characterized by massive riffs, tight rhythms and a strong penchant for instrumental music. In 2007 Englund founded Feared with vocalist Mario Ramos, a project combining death aggression, melodic touches and modern songwriting. He joined Six Feet Under in 2012 and recorded the album Unborn with them in 2013, then became a member of The Haunted the same year, contributing to Exit Wounds (2014), Strength in Numbers (2017) and Songs of Last Resort (2025). Parallel to his band work, he has developed an instrumental solo discography: Master of the Universe (2019), Starzinger (2021), The Chug Project Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 (2023) and Vol. 3 (2024). As a producer, content creator and founder of Solar Guitars in 2017, Ola Englund occupies a distinctive place in the contemporary metal ecosystem—on stage, in the studio and across digital guitar formats.
